Same old song: Orioles’ bats remain cold in 10-0 loss to Giants
Baltimore’s bats once again failed to show up in a 10–0 loss to the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday night.
The Orioles have now lost 10 of their last 11 games and have been outscored 62–17 during that stretch.
The Giants jumped out to an early lead against Orioles starter Dean Kremer, scoring three runs in the first inning on a sacrifice fly by Brandon Belt, a single by Mike Yastrzemski, and a double by Joc Pederson.
Kremer settled down after the first inning, but the Orioles’ offense couldn’t provide him any support. Baltimore managed just four hits off Giants starter Logan Webb, who threw seven scoreless innings.
The Giants added to their lead in the fifth inning on a two-run homer by Wilmer Flores and a solo homer by Luis González.
The Orioles had a chance to get on the board in the sixth inning when they loaded the bases with one out, but they couldn’t push a run across.
The Giants put the game away in the eighth inning with a three-run homer by Brandon Crawford.
The loss drops the Orioles to 14–33 on the season, the worst record in the American League.
