Bath confirm exciting new signings ahead of the 2024/25 season
With the new Premiership season just around the corner, Bath Rugby is among the many clubs preparing for an exciting campaign next year and have announced five high-profile signings since December 2022.
The most recent signing was that of flanker Richard de Carpentier from Lyon, who joined the club on January 3rd.
The 25-year-old has played 11 times for Lyon this season and will bring with him a wealth of experience to the Gallagher Premiership
Bath director of rugby Johann van Graan was delighted to secure the signing, stating: "Richard is an exciting young talent and a great addition to our squad. He is a dynamic and physical player who will add real value to our pack."
Earlier in December, Bath announced the signing of 21-year-old fly-half Orlando Bailey
Bailey, who was part of England's squad at the 2022 Under-20s Six Nations, has made 11 appearances for Bristol this season.
He will join up with Bath in the summer and is seen as a long-term successor to current fly-half Orlando Bailey, who is out of contract at the end of the season.
Back in November, Bath signed highly-rated South African scrum-half Louis Schreuder from the Bulls
The 22-year-old has made 14 appearances for the Bulls in the United Rugby Championship this season and will join up with Bath in the summer.
Schreuder is a highly-rated prospect and is seen as a potential long-term replacement for current scrum-half Ben Spencer, who is also out of contract at the end of the season.
Bath have also announced the signing of 23-year-old lock Josh Bayliss from Worcester Warriors
Bayliss, who has made 12 appearances for Worcester this season, will join up with Bath in the summer.
He is a physical and athletic lock who will add real depth to their squad.
The final signing announced by Bath so far is that of 22-year-old prop Will Hurd from Bristol Bears
Hurd, who has made 10 appearances for Bristol this season, will join up with Bath in the summer.
He is a promising young prop who will add further depth to Bath's front row.
These five signings represent a real statement of intent from Bath as they look to build a squad capable of challenging for major honours in the 2024/25 season.
