More Than 5,000 Without Power in the Spokane Valley
Avista Working to Restore Power After Storm
Over 5,000 people in the Spokane area near Manito Rockwood and South Perry Hill are experiencing a power outage.
Around 833 Avista customers in Spokane Valley are also without power.
Avista is currently working to restore power and has not yet released a timeline for when it will be fully restored.
The cause of the outage is still under investigation, but it is believed to be related to the windstorm that hit the area on Tuesday.
The windstorm arrived two days shy of the sixth anniversary of the 2015 monster that caused millions of dollars of damage in Spokane and left thousands without power.
The damage from the storm was apparent in Spokane Valley's southern neighborhoods as well. The top of one tree appeared to have broken off against the force of the wind.
